There are many different breastfeeding positions. If one isn’t working, it’s likely that there will be another position that will suit your body and baby better. But please remember you only NEED one breastfeeding position to work for you. So don’t stress if you feel like only one is working for you.
- Laid-back: Great for encouraging a deep, instinctive latch and especially helpful for parents with oversupply or babies with reflux.
- Cross-cradle: Offers excellent head and neck control, making it useful for babies who need extra help getting a deep latch.
- Football: Keeps pressure off your tummy, ideal after a C-section and for parents with larger breasts or for smaller babies who need more guidance.
- Side-lying: Perfect for rest and night time feed, allowing you and your baby to stay relaxed and supported while feeding.
- Koala: Useful for babies that are struggling to latch deeply, such as those with a tongue tie, recessed chin or high palate.
